I'm due to land in Rome at the end of this week with nothing more than a pocket full of money, an unlimited Eurail pass and 2 weeks to find my way back to blighty.

I've considered a few places a I want to pass through on the way back, maybe Milan, maybe Trieste, Vienna, Budapest, Prague, Munich, Frankfurt ??

I'm gonna decide when I get to Rome, i've got my first 3 nights hotel stay booked in Rome so got a few days to plan my route back. This thread is not just to tell you how frickin awesome my holiday is about to be, its to find out if any of you reprobates have done anything similar or been to any spectacular places between UK and Rome that you could suggest I visit ?

Budapest is a great city, going back there in the early autumn. If you do go there, go Vienna and Nuremberg on the way back , both well worth a visit.

I was in Munich the weekend good craic worth taking a stop there. Checkout the Hofbräuhaus it like school canteen lots of shouting plus beer. The beer is great in Munich plus doesn't give you as bad a hangover as the usual brand. If you fancy a cocktail The master house makes some of the best I've tasted . A trip to Dachau it worth doing if you've never been to concentration camp. It didn't bother me till I got to the gas chamber pretty fucked up, it a one stop killing shop.
