What's your fave jailbroken apps & tweaks?

My list:

Instellious = if you don't know, better get to know.

iBlacklist = black list a bunch if callers,

Activator = got mine set as, double tap power and turns flash on.

calltell = speaks the callers name before incomming ringing

iconRenamer = dose what it says on the tin

3D (glasses free) home screen = wicked effect, seeing is believing.

TV shutoff = makes the screen shutdown like a old time tv set.

MakeItMine Or FakeOperator = change the operator logo to 'whatever'

iLockDown Pro = set a password for individual apps.

Now I would love for 'iGotYa' to work on my phone, but the bitch just crashes springboard. :(

Liking the iBlacklist, activator is too spammy for my liking.

Hope you've been using dodgy debs or you'll have gone down in my estimation!

No debs, just dodgy repo's ;) *

Activator spammy? I'm getting no spam here?
Setup with 'spring-flash' to 'double tap' the sleep and the flash comes on. Again and it goes off.

Well suck me sideways, so there is.
LoL I had to go check it out, didn't notice that before.
Oh well, its only the settings screen, I can deal with that.

The ads seem to connect to the net and update/change. I know once you've JB'd your device it's a security risk with dodgy apps etc., but i'd rather not tempt fate using spammy apps like activator. Fuck knows what info it could send out!

Anti-virus/malware makers need to hurry up and knock out an iPhone version, so i can install a cracked version

lol, stick with iOS then and never switch to Android... As much as I prefer Google to Apple (Apple can fuck off as far as I'm concerned) even many paid-for Android apps still have adverts in them.

You might not like Apple, but they do have the best phone (and best mobile OS) on the market. iPhone 4 kicks all other mobiles arses!

What makes you say that? Without googling "facts" from anti-apple fanboys why it could be better, personally speaking, why do you think it's better than iOS?. Even if you don't like iOS, you can't deny the actual iPhone 4 is the sexiest phone on the current market. (And also best supported when it comes to sound systems, cars etc. which is what really counts tbh)

I agree, the ip4 hardware is the best looking 'phone' I've ever seen.
It's a dam shame I have to keep it in a case.
I use the fake leather type with the flip over front cover, for extra protection.

The iOS.... Well it just works !
No tinkering or tweaking needed.

And I agree also that i-products are the best suported hardware by 3rd party's out there.

Fuck, steady on ave.... I think we've found common ground.

NOW, iPhone 5..... Who knows, the cross ip4/ip3g mock ups I seen look fugly.
I say, stick with the ip4 design, make it a bit bigger,
Make the metal band one peice, no death-grip strips/gaps.
Up the dam camera pixles.
Loose the home button.

I got this ip4 sim-free to replace my wank HD2 (good for tinkering) and I was half way into contract.
But just so happens my new contract is dew July ;)

iPhone weakness demonstrates that encryption by itself does not provide protection – companies have to react quickly when an iPhone is lost

Passwords are not secure on iPhones that are lost. This is the result of tests carried out at Fraunhofer Institute SIT in Darmstadt. Within six minutes the institute’s staff was able to render the iPhone’s encryption void and decipher many passwords stored on it. If the iPhone is used for business purposes then the company’s network security may be at risk as well. The flawed security design affects all iPhone and iPad devices containing the latest firmware. Written documentation and a video about the attack are available below. Only companies prepared for such an attack will be able to reduce their risk.

Yer lol you read how it's done? Fuck that.
iOS as far as I know was never marketed to the masses as a biz phone.

NOW, let's talk about following the screen smudge on android to unlock...

But then that's not fair as the android again isn't a biz phone.
So data on both android and iOS arnt the main value to most thief's and chancers.
It's the HW they want, and I'm sure in both cases a simple button press, DFU, reflash will get you up n running in no time.

I read somewhere yesterday that Apple are considering making the iPhone 5 2/3rds the size of the iPhone 4. The only reason I could see for them doing that is to try to make the web experience and reading the screen for anything other than making/receiving calls non-existant. Maybe they think this'll help keep iPad sales up.

I also read somewhere that iPod sales are on the decline probably due to the populatiry of the iPad.

I understood it as the iPhone nano will run along side any of it's larger siblings as a pre-pay sim free unit, for around $200
In response to android pay as you go hardware.
There's also talk of a universal sim card, that allows us to hop from provider to provider (I guess they would have to agree/join up)
Now THAT sounds intriguing.

As for iPod sales being down dew to iPad popularty, don't you mean iPhone instead of iPad?

No, I just didn't want to sound as retarded as the rest of you :)

If I were to sum my opinion up (and it's the only one that counts) it would essentially be this:

1. iOS looks better than Android and is probably easier to use. Android is more customizable.
2. iPhones look great. Some Android phones look almost as nice and have better hardware (Galaxy S for starters)

That's ignoring any stuff about jailbreaking/rooting which isn't a sensible comparison - my Microwave can boil water but it's not a kettle. I have no real bias either way, Android is more my thing because personally I think it's more "open", it ties-in with all of my Google stuff and doesn't require me to fist my PC with proprietary software just so I can use it, but if that wasn't a concern and all I wanted was something slick the iPhone would be a sensible choice.

In fact, my ideal phone would be "smooshing" the iPhone4's looks, Galaxy S power, iOS's style and Androids versatility and I'd be happier than a pig in shit :)

I know you somehow managed to completely dismiss Jailbreaking the iPhone, but a JB'd iPhone makes it more open and versatile than your fathers anus! Add that to the fact that you don't really need that slight power kick the galaxy has.

So in reality your hatred for a brand name is stopping you from getting the best phone you could ever have!!!

Yeah as soon as I posted the bit about the mini iPhone I read somewhere else it was likely to be an addition to the range. The initial article I read was on Giz.

The iPad/iPod thing was, I think, just some analyst summising that people can't/choose not to afford to buy both and because the iPad appears to have been quite a hit they were blaming the iPod's falling sales on that. I don't suppose the iPhones popularity has helped the iPod at all either.
